If Your Name Is Emanuel Cook Jr., Then Your Life Sucks Ass Right Now.

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on August 27, 2007

Here’s an update of sorts on the USC player that God Spurrier is proud of. Seems there are more emerging details on the newest USC poster boy of the 2007 “Be Like a Gator Tour”, Emanuel Cook.

“Gamecock starting free safety Emanuel Cook Jr. has been released from jail following his arrest on gun charges.

Cook, 19, is charged with unlawful possesion of a weapon.

Thursday afternoon, a judge set a $2,000 personal recognizance bond for him.

An incident report states a USC police officer spotted Cook and another man, James Gore III, standing beside a silver 1999 Ford Crown Victoria in the parking lot of USC’s East Quad. This was about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

The officer says as he approached the men, he saw Gore attempting to hid something inside the vehicle. The officer states the men didn’t comply when he asked them to show him their hands.

When officers frisked the men, they say they found a gun magazine on Gore. They say Cook told them a gun was in the car. Officers say they found a High Point .380 revolver in the glove compartment of the car.

Gore, 21, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon in a restricted area. He also has had a $2,000 personal recognizance bond set for him.

First of all notice how the word “possession” is misspelled in the story. Does anyone spell check or proofread anymore? I wonder why “the man” was spying on the USC player and his “bodyguard” in the first place. You see since the gun isn’t Cook’s and “the man” saw both of them handling the weapon, then one has to assume that either God Spurrier armed Mr. Gore himself or Mr. Gore was showing Cook that he was armed and that no Clemson assassin was going to do in him. I wonder if it was like the one in the picture with the optional laser. Swwweeeeetttttt.

“It’s not up to me,” Spurrier said. “The university has a policy that, to be honest with you, I wasn’t 100 percent aware of. I probably have not done as good a job emphasizing to our guys that being around guns is really worse than being around drugs or whatever. But I think we have a policy here that anyone who’s in possession of a gun, a loaded gun, is immediately suspended from school. That’s what I’ve been told.”

Wait, so your saying that if you had a say Cook wouldn’t be suspended right now? And Let me get this straight, you didn’t know the university had a policy against fire arms? God Spurrier sir you are beginning to sound like Ronald Reagan when he kept repeating “I can’t recall that”, during the senate hearing concerning the Iran Contra Affair, and Reagan was suffering from Alzheimer’s. By the way no firearms on school grounds is state law, regardless of University policy. SC code 16-23-420 and 430, for future reference. The point is God Spurrier your thug wannbes players shouldn’t be associating with criminals that are gun/drug people, he knew the gun was there he said so. I wonder how many of these athletes that get into trouble have juvenile records as teenagers, you’ll never hear about those because those records are sealed when they reached 18. The types of inappropriate/illegal behaviors these students/players are participating in don’t just all of a sudden start when they are freshman in college. And what about the sorry excuses Spurrier made comparing guns and drugs (including alcohol), and he wasn’t aware of these rules, blah, blah, blah. How much does he scam the tax payers of SC out of get paid?

Illegal is illegal and usually with guns and drugs, one is related to the other. Where did God Spurrier get his education or common sense. These are issues that any school official (especially someone who has been teaching/coaching in schools for years) shouldn’t even have to read to know they exist. The athletic staff needs to stop playing dumb by saying they are just now realizing they need to have training and/or counseling for incoming freshman about illegal behavior and administer some discipline.

Spurrier called the situation “unfortunate.”

You know what else is unfortunate God Spurrier? The fact that Cook had to have an appendectomy so even if the suspension is lifted he won’t be playing in this week’s game anyway.

So I profess on this day 8/27/07.
