The Win Over Georgia was a Start but Questions Still Linger about the Vols and their Coach.

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on October 7, 2007

While I was surprised by the Vols and how well they played yesterday, none were more shocked than Georgia fans. After watching the previous four Vols games this year, I firmly believe the reason Georgia lost was due to my buddy John, a die hard Georgia fan. When I was traveling to the Wild Hare Sports Cafe to watch the game with him, he called me and told me that there were to many Tennessee fans here and he didn’t want to see them cry when we lost. That’s the first time ever he’s talked trash before the game. We never do that. Then when CBS was airing the beautiful “Parting of the T” he said it was the gayest entrance in college football, that statement is what sealed the fate of Georgia yesterday. John jinxed his team so if any Georgia fans are reading this then e-mail and you can have address, for a small fee. :)

While I’ll admit the defense played lights out yesterday, I have to wonder why they haven’t they played like that all year, or last year for that matter. The offense was the most productive it has been all year. Our special teams played extremely well. This is how Tennessee football should be played. I just pray it will last.

A lot of people think the critics of Fulmer will be silent for now, and most will except for me. Let’s look at the game and see why Tennessee won.

  1. Georgia didn’t have a big play guy. Tennessee’s heel all year has been getting burned by the big play. Georgia doesn’t have a big play guy so our defense could relax a little.
  2. Foster ran the ball. Another problem all year has been the running game and the line certainly opened some holes. Georgia’s defensive line is smaller than most and younger than most as well. Next year will not be so easy.
  3. Ainge owns Georgia. Casey Clausen could never beat Georgia, and Georgia can’t beat Ainge, but other teams can beat Ainge we play them later this season.
  4. Jonathan Hefney decided to show up. Where has Jonathan Hefney been all year? I don’t know but he decided to show up yesterday, I wish he showed up against Florida or Cal.
  5. It was a home game. Tennessee is undefeated at home this year, not so much on the road. You can’t in the SEC if you can’t win on the road. Mississippi State & Alabama are road games, that worries me.
  6. John Chavis realized he likes to eat. In order for Chavis to eat he has to keep his job, in order for him to do that, Fulmer can’t be fired.

I’m happy the Vols won yesterday, but in order for me to get behind Fulmer as I have in the past, he can not lose another game this season. Can that happen? Yes it could. Will it happen? Only God knows at this point. I’ll be honest with you though. I hope it does happen. I like Fulmer, I want Fulmer to win at Tennessee, but in order to that, positive things like the trick play involving Taylor to Coker need to continue to happen. Road wins need to happen.

The Vols haven’t looked this good in Neyland Stadium since the 2006 season opener when they led Cal 35-0 after three quarters. That victory began their comeback from a 5-6 season in 2005. Maybe this was the start of something, too.

I think it has Ainge’s number on the back.

So I profess on this day 10/07/07.

Towing Company Owner Comfirms There is a Gator Mafia and they Got the Fans to Threatened Him

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on October 7, 2007

Oh dear that shall be some blood shed over this. First the Gators have lost two in row, now the towing company owner Forron confirms that there is a Gator Mafia and they got the Gator “fans” to “remind” him of their existence. However, he is still to scared to press charges.

“The owner of the towing company involved in Florida safety Tony Joiner’s burglary case said Saturday he received more than 200 threatening phone calls.

More than a dozen of the calls were death threats and others were bomb threats, Stan Forron told Florida Today. Several callers even offered to pay the $76 towing bill if Forron would drop the charge.

“I’m just glad it wasn’t Tim Tebow, that’s all I can say,” Forron told the newspaper. “I think I would be covered in 10 feet of concrete right now if it had been Tebow.”

Joiner was arrested around 5 a.m. Tuesday for allegedly trying to take his girlfriend’s car out of the towing company’s impound lot.

The State Attorney’s Office dropped the charge Friday at Forron’s request.”

Classic mafia tactics. You finger someone and the threats come & then the bribes. After all everyone goes out at 5:00 AM to pick up a car from impound right? As I stated earlier the owner is probably in witness protection even though the charges were dropped. I can’t blame the State Attorney’s Office for dropping the charges they have their lives and families to think about.

“Although Forron, who acknowledged his allegiance to the Gators, said he wanted the charge dropped from the beginning, he never expected the reaction he got from Florida fans.

“I’ve been in the [towing business] since ’77 and I’ve never seen anything like it,” he told Florida Today. “The fans are very passionate. I think that’s a big part of it. … I’m disappointed that people could be like that. I realize how passionate people can be. But it’s disappointing that they would threaten lives and property over something like this.”

Notice how the writer used the word allegiance, that’s key. Forron you’re in the Gator Mafia you should have known you would be singled out.

“According to Gainesville Police, Joiner pushed open an electric gate, got into the car and started to drive off. When Joiner stopped to close the gate, he was confronted by a witness who called police.

Shortly after Joiner’s arrest, Forron said the player had arranged to pay the bill and pick up the car. But Forron said no one was around to take Joiner’s money, so he must have thought it was OK to take the car and settle up later.

“He was a perfect gentleman,” Forron said. “That had a big influence on why I wanted [the charge dropped]. If he had been yelling and screaming, they wouldn’t have been dropped.”

No one was there because you’re not open to the public that time of the day. According to the 911 calls made by your employees, there was a lot of screaming and yelling by Tony “Jailbird” Joiner. I better quit writing about this I might be the next person to become a victim of an “accident”.

On a serious note I’m not classifying all Gator fans, there are some that are respectful & are embarrassed over this so they are excluded from the following words.

Death threats on an old man? Come on! It’s fans like you that cause the rest of nation to hate the Gators, a lot you are rude & obnoxious. Meyer is winning at all costs & it will eventually catch up with the program. Meyer reminds me of Dennis Erickson when he was at Miami, and we all know what happened to him. He fled the program when the red flags went up!

I also find it funny that ESPN sat on this story until the LSU game was over with. Godfather Meyer clearly controlled that. The Gator fans claimed Ohio State fans had no class, death threats aren’t exactly a classy move.

So I profess on this day 10/07/07.

The Revelations After a Saturdays Worth of Football Week 6

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on October 7, 2007

First of all I just want to say this is the best season of college football ever!!! OK, yesterday I was forced to watch football from 3 critical locations.

  • My couch
  • The Wild Hare Sports Bar Cafe
  • My buddy Johns couch.

Some of you might remember me stating in week one that The Fighting Zookers Illini were going to good, do you believe me now? They should be ranked.

What a win for Butch Davis and North Carolina.

The Wisconsin QB is seriously underrated.

Look for Ohio State to jump Cal in the polls.

Way to go K-State. (sarcasm)

The Fighting Zookers Illini have the best running back no one has ever heard of.

I realize the YoJoe and The Gridiron Goddess are mourning this morning after Stanford beat USC at USC, but I did say if Southern Cal continues to make mistakes they would lose. I just didn’t think it would be to Stanford. By the way Gridiron Goddess is rather pissed off right now and I’m frightened.

Alabama needs to learn how to close games out.

While Tennessee’s win over Georgia looks impressive, there are still questions, I’ll go into full details later today.

I give Florida credit for playing hard and leaving it all on the field.

I told you last week that this is the time that Clemson falls apart.

Hi we’re Nebraska football and we suck.

Oh look Iowa lost again, maybe they’ll get a much needed win against Michigan State who lost to North Western (snicker)

Was Tebow crying last night?

I see the Cinderella story of Rutgers is finally dead.

Even though Texas A&M beats America’s coach, Mike “I’m 40 I’m a man!” Gundy’s team, Dennis Franchione will still be fired, I’ll go into details about that later as well.

What a great win for Oklahoma, especially since I hate Texas.

Boston College was just showing off yesterday.

Go Boston Redsox clip the Angels wings!!!

UCLA has to be the worst team in the country to get beaten by Notre Dame, thanks a lot for crushing my dreams of a winless Notre Dame team. Bastards.

The more I hear Lou Holz talk the more he reminds me of Sylvester the Cat. I’m waiting for him to say “Suffering Succotash”.

That’s all for now…look for some important articles coming up soon.

So I profess on this day 10/07/07.
