One Former Hawaii Warrior Has Gone Crazy.
Posted by Thomas the Terrible on January 27, 2008
It was bound to happen. A former University of Hawaii football player named Lene Amosa has quite possibly lost it. In a whine & cry session letter sent to the editor of “The Hawaiian Advertiser” Amosa states he’s tired of hearing about how his team was beaten like a red headed stepchild on National Beat a Red Headed Stepchild day. You would think he should know the truth since June Jones left Hawaii to coach SMU, after all SMU doesn’t have to play Florida next year.
As a former player, I’m tired of hearing fans and the media say that we were overmatched by bigger, faster, stronger players.
(Spoken in a Jack Nicholson impersonation)
Amosa you might be tired of hearing the truth because you can’t handle the truth!! We live in a world dominated by college football. And college football is played by men with speed and power. Who’s going to play like that? You? Your Hawaii Warriors? The teams of the SEC have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for the weaker conferences while cursing the SEC. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: That Hawaii’s demise in the Sugar Bowl, while tragic, probably helps recruit six additional 5 star prospects to SEC schools. And while the SEC’s existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, wins championships. Because deep down, in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want a SEC winner, you need a SEC winner. SEC fans use words like domination, tradition & BCS rankings…we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something, than something is our SEC heritage and our teams pride. We also use those words to remind weaker and meek conferences just who the top conference is. Plus it’s fun to make fun of other teams.
Georgia got lucky, and I say that from a player’s point of view. We gave up big plays, which at the end killed us.
Lucky? Lucky? OK, now you’re just delusional and in need of some therapy and an old fashion SEC ass kicking. AGAIN!!

Yall crack me up, being a former college football player I understand the game and how it takes more then physical abilities to win games, its the total package. Mind body and soul. and my point was Hawaii didnt come to play thats it. I wasnt saying that we were better then yall, not at all. Im just saying if hawaii approached the game in the same mentality as did Georgia I bet you it would have been a better game. and Im talking from the dam Head Coach on down to the players.. I aint disrespecting any of the kids, been there. so yall need to chill…but ….if i disrepected you the bench warmer, tuba playing, beer drinking drunk then who cares…lol…hahahahahahah. oh by the way aloooooooooha….

Oh wow the incredible loser Lene Amosa posting a comment on my blog. Sure the comment is full of typos and bad grammar.
I guess the English classes at Hawaii are like the football program;
Get the students in, build them up and have them publicly embarrasses themselves.

Hey Lene, I thought the haka was supposed to prepare the mind, body, and spirit???
This time it wasn’t the mentality of Hawaii, it was the strength, speed, and coaching of Georgia that beat you. Take the blowout like a man and go back to WAC mediocrity…
And it will get worse next year with half of your offense gone as you prepare to go to Gunsville to play Florida.

Okay it is obvious that this will go on and on and on.
Dang Thomas you not only ignorant you are prejudice. Those are fighting words but I aint gonna bring myself down to your level.

Go Warriors!!!

If being prejudice is hating people who were to ignorant to learn the English language while SUPPOSEDLY in high school much less college then call me prejudice, but please use proper English skills & grammar while doing so.

I believe Lene’s right that our coach June really didn’t approach this game with a sense of urgency like he did with the last three games before the Sugar Bowl. The offense lacked preparation and the team was on vacation and thought they could walk in into the Sugar Dome and be able to beat a very good Georgia team? Georgia had their buttons pushed and we’re angry and hungry to prove they belong. Our Warriors on the other hand thought they belong with a perfect record and that they could match up well enough to keep the game close. Well, we saw the aftermath of what now is called the masacre in Naw’lins. June was more interested in landing the SMU job with a very lucrative pay day waiting that he viewed DVD’s of the SMU team while relaxing in his hotel room. That’s why Lene is disturbed of the whole team preparation and why he feels betrayed as a player.
Well look no more than the next SEC game that the Warriors will face. I hope they will prepare and play the game with urgency. The Warrior nation is looking forward to the game. We respect SEC and Florida is a very good again this coming season. We’ll gauge our team against Florida and after that…If we do good, we can run the WAC again and hope that MacMackin put a smack on Florida with the best defense Hawaii has had for a long time. The question mark is our offense? We’ll see if our offense will again be a tourist or conquerrors?

Stepping Stone your comments look as if a 12 year old was the author. Horrible misspellings. The U of Hawaii’s admissions or poultry when you compare them to Tennessee’s requirements. Here you go let’s make it easy.

For the record I hate catfish and I’ve been to Honolulu. Maybe you should get a dictionary and study it, become one with it. Then maybe you can get off that rock and quit catering to people like me for a living. (tourism) That should be your “Priority”.
