YMSWWC’s “Official” NFL Draft Preview Picks 6-10

Posted by Joel on March 4, 2008

Continuing with YMSWWC’s NFL Draft Preview, here are picks 6-10:

p1_namath_si.jpg New York Jets: “Mangenius” coach Eric Mangini had a difficult second year. Injuries, new QB, and Spygate controversy afftected this team. They need help on both lines, a RB, and like a lot of teams, could use secondary help. I think their best bet, if McFadden doesn’t somehow fall to them, is the second best D-Lineman in the draft, Sedrick Ellis, DE/DT, USC.

patriotsnewlogo.jpg New England Patriots (f/SF): This is a team that racked up a lot of points on offense but got old right before our eyes on defense, particularly the LB corps. With the recent defections of Samuel and Gay at corner, they could use secondary help too. But this draft is a good draft for corners, so they could get a good one in the later rounds. With that said, they need a guy that can easily play a rush end and outside LB. The pick will be Vernon Gholston, DE, Slowhio St.

17860200.jpg Baltimore Ravens: On a personal level, I hope John Harbaugh is a breath of fresh air as opposed to the total windbag known as Brian Billick. Hate is a strong word, and with that really said I didn’t like him. Back to the team that fired him, the needs are many. They are QB, RB, WR, D-Line, O-Line, CB, and that’s about it. I say they go corner, but my pick if I were Ozzie Newsome would be: Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas.

odellthurman.jpg Cincinnati Bengals: I know this pic isn’t really clear, but it’s Odell Thurman after arrest #4. They need to focus their whole entire draft on defense. Yeah they could use another lineman on offense or RB for depth but their defense was as potent as Iraqi forces during Desert Storm. Start from the line and work back. So with that being said, the pick is Phillip Merling, DE, Clemson.

kimreg1.jpg New Orleans Saints: Again, another team with issues on defense. I had one of the corners originally slotted here, but Mike McKenzie is no slouch on one side. The other corner, Jason David, ought to have the nickname of “Toasty” because he got his buns burned repeatedly. The signing of Randall Gay should solve that. I say they go linebacker. Scott Fujita needs help, so I say they draft Keith Rivers, LB, USC

p.s. I couldn’t decide between the above pic of Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush or the below pic of Kim. No it’s not a clip from her sex tape, this is a somewhat clean blog. But it makes no sense, black or white, for a woman to have ass like this:

Holyfield v. Tyson III???

Posted by Joel on March 4, 2008

I grew up a boxing fan. The sweet science is beautiful to watch when done properly. I especially love watching amateur boxers battle. I can remember watching Tuesday Night Fights on USA and seeing future champions fight, such as James Toney, Riddick Bowe, Roy Jones, Jr., Julio Caesar Chavez, and two guys named Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson. It would take years for these two to cross paths, and unfortunately, when they did fight the first time, neither man was still in their 20’s.

Now, according to a recent interview, Holyfield has had preliminary discussions with Mike Tyson’s camp about a third and (hopefully) final match. So we have a boxer that is one concussion away from a permanent feeding tube and one that has a tattoo on his body of Chairman Mao. Both of these men are in their 40’s amd well past their prime. Tyson can’t keep himself out of jail and Holyfield can’t keep his dick in his pants. Holyfield, the devout Christian who was once linked to “faith healer” Benny Hinn, and Tyson, who is a Muslim at last check but I wouldn’t be surprised if he started worshipping Xenu along side Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

This is what boxing has become. The premiere division in the sport has always been the heavyweight division. Right now, there are 14 different title holders, all claiming to be the heavyweight champ. Quick, name 3 of the heavyweight “champions”. I’ll give you a hint, 2 of them are Russian brothers. The point being that there are too many champions, with no charisma and no story to tell. People are confused, and the sport wonders why UFC has eclipsed boxing when it comes to PPV buys. The sport that Sen. John McCain once said needed a “colon cleansing” now has some of its oldest turds floating to the surface.

So now we get to this “fight”. Who would pay to watch two 40+ year old fighters??? I know I would. America loves a train wreck. Not only would I pay to watch it, I would call my friends over and throw a fight party. Or I would meet up with them at a sports bar. This is the only time that I would actually pay to see boxing. The curiosity factor would be huge. Bring back Judge Mills Lane to ref the fight.

This is what boxing has become. The sport of kings has been downgraded to the show of court jesters, and Holyfield vs. Tyson would be the one minstrel show that I can’t wait to watch, not because of the boxing, but because of what Tyson may or may not do. Just make sure Tyson keeps his nose clean.

Hey Yo! Chickens Can’t Fly

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on March 4, 2008

I found this hilarious video to share and here’s an update on the latest Gamecock that was arrested. It seems Spurrier has stated that his player has done nothing wrong and in fact was ambushed by the Po Po.

Spurrier said that so far, he’s not sure that his player is at fault, and he’s not currently suspended.

“Kevin Young, from what we have heard, did nothing wrong the other night,” Spurrier said. “Some guy took a swing at him and the next thing he knew, he got punched we think by a police officer, but the facts are all gonna come out. But until the facts come out he is not in trouble with me if his story verifies to be a fact.”

So far the Columbia Po Po has yet to respond to these allegations. Could it be the officer is a Clemson grad and if that was case wouldn’t the officer gain more satisfaction from reminding Young of last years game and the overall record of the Gamecocks? Me thinks so!

Anyway enjoy the video. The visuals suck but it’s all about the audio.
