USA Baseball Doesn’t Want a Lying Cheater on the Team. The Olympics will still Suck

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on May 9, 2008

Like the Discover card, Roger Clemens isn’t welcome on the U.S. Olympic baseball team.

U.S. general manager Bob Watson said Wednesday that he isn’t considering the 45-year-old right-hander for his roster for the Beijing Games.

“From my standpoint, we don’t need that type of distraction,” Watson said. “I have not talked to the commissioner. I have not talked to [MLB chief operating officer] Bob DuPuy, nor have I talked to his agent, but I just think the distraction that he’s carrying right now, from my standpoint, we don’t need that.”

At the U.S. Olympic team media summit last month, Watson was quoted as saying Clemens wasn’t “on my radar screen” because of his performance at the end of last season. On Wednesday, however, Watson said “distraction” was an issue, too.

I agree. Do not let Clemons on the roster. He will only make the U.S look worse in the eyes of all the other countries. And here’s how:

  • He would test positive for Roids, then blame the results on something ridiculous like the testers “misremembering” how to spell his name
  • He could get in trouble by cheating on his wife with a 15 year old asian girl.
  • He could face serious trouble for perjuring himself to the Chinese authorities by saying he did nothing wrong, but will only apologize for making “mistakes” Wonder if he will buy the girls dad some golf clubs? Maybe buy her mom a wok?

However a plus could be that they could film Dateline NBC “To Catch a Predator” live from Beijing and have some cops run out and tackle Clemens on the pitchers mound.

Despite the fact that the Olympics have become somewhat of a political laughing stock for the athletic community over the past few years the right and privilege to compete for ones country still means a great deal to most/many of the athletes involved, to think that as a country at this point in time the United States of America could not find ANYONE better to represent our country on the baseball diamond is ridiculous. In addition to his declined performance the end of last season and his age Roger has disgraced himself, his family, his friends, his teammates, MLB, and the entire sport of baseball, steroids were the smallest factor in all of this mind you. Roger Clemens true personality has shown through the past few months and he would be a despicably horrible choice for the United States to send to Beijing as an athletic representative for our country.

Plus he slept with John Daly’s fat & disgusting ex-wife.

Alabama State University Steals From the Book of Behr

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on May 9, 2008

Another school from the third world state of Bama has been hit with some major NCAA infractions. Nope it’s not big brother Bama it’s little bitch sister Alabama State.

The NCAA has accused Alabama State University of 24 rules violations, alleging widespread use of ineligible players, grade changes and recruiting misdeeds and charging the school with lack of institutional control.

For nearly five freaking years this little unknown school committed anywhere from 500 to 668 rules violations. No shit. You can read it here. Fortunately the Alabama State Whatever the Hell They’re Called exceeded the number of the beast (Saban) by two.

The alleged violations occurred from 1999-2003 and most involved the football program, including the participation of 25 players who were ineligible because they hadn’t completed the required percentage of coursework toward their degrees.

The NCAA charged Alabama State with lack of institutional control, particularly within the football program, and said coaches, athletes, faculty and administrators were not properly educated on NCAA rules.

Head football coach L.C. Cole, who is charged in five of the allegations, was shit-canned and the university self-reported a number of violations in August 2003.

The NCAA said Cole “failed to maintain an atmosphere of compliance in the program” and named him in five violations, including improper contact with two recruits at a restaurant and with the mother of another player who was at the University of Tennessee.

That’s right Tennessee. What happen was there was a highly recruited running back that played his high school in Montgomery that signed on to play at University of Tennessee. The player was disgruntled and was inquiring about transferring to another school. One of the Alabama State coaches was said to have been contacted by the player’s mother about him possibly transferring to Alabama State after one of his high school teammates did the same thing when he transferred from the University of Arkansas. It was said that the coach was working along with the mother to try to bring the player to ASU while he was still on scholarship at UT. The bastard.

“I don’t have any comment about it,” said Cole, now coaching in the Canadian Football League. “I’ve moved on and whatever comes out of it comes out of it.”

It’s good to see this loser isn’t involved with real football.

Among the allegations:

  • The grades of eight football players were changed without the approval of faculty members and administrators.
  • “Numerous” athletes were allowed to play, practice and receive financial aid while ineligible in football and men’s and women’s basketball. Fourteen ineligible football players were allowed to participate in a total of 495 spring workouts or practices.
  • Alabama State coaches improperly provided meals, lodging and transportation to prospects and players. Prospects also attended a party at a student-athlete’s apartment that included strippers, and were given money for tips.

This just in…… Kelvin Sampson will be accepting the position of head men’s basketball coach at Alabama State University. No word on whether Barry Switzer is considering the football position or not yet… stay tuned

The NCAA indicated that the Committee on Infractions will hear Alabama State’s case during its Aug. 8-10 session. Thomas said the university would meet the June 27 deadline for a response.

“The aim of the university is to respond and cooperate as fully as possible with the NCAA,” he said.

With all that cheating, you would think that the programs might have SOME success, but alas, no.

Any chance they just put this program out of its misery? Or is the Death Penalty really dead?

Someday Alabama State will be this good…keep trying….

Darrion Scott is Simply a Bastard

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on May 9, 2008

You know I like to have fun with this blog. I enjoy making fun of the world of sports, its teams and its players. However what Darrion Scott did isn’t a matter to be made fun of. In fact I find him to be lower than Michael Vick.

Former Vikings defensive lineman Darrion Scott was charged with assaulting his 2-year-old son last week by holding a plastic dry cleaning bag over the kicking and crying boy’s head in his Eden Prairie townhome.

Scott is charged with felony assault in the third degree, felony domestic assault by strangulation and misdemeanor endangerment of a child.

According to the criminal complaint: The boy’s mother heard the child’s muffled cries and found Scott, who is 6-3 and 290 pounds, holding the bag over the boy’s head on April 26. She said the boy was on his back on the floor, his legs kicking and that Scott was holding the bag tightly around the boy’s neck.

Lovely story. How else should a 290-lb man subdue a 25-lb kid? I’m sure the kid started it.

There’s really no facts needed to why you had a bag over the head of a 2 year old. Even is he thought this was “fun”, it’s still dangerous and sick. But maybe I’m different. Maybe because my parents didn’t put a bag over my head I don’t know what fun is anymore..

She told police she had evidence of previous injuries while the child was in Scott’s care. A doctor who examined the boy said there is a reasonable degree of medical certainty that marks on the boy’s arm and ear were intentionally inflicted and were consistent with either burning or being struck.

Scott, 26, told police the two were playing with the bag, and he wanted to see if the boy could get the bag off his head by himself. Scott was arrested last Wednesday and has been in custody at the Hennepin County jail.

A search of his townhome turned up a loaded .50-caliber handgun in an unlocked bedroom nightstand. The weapon would have been easily accessible to a 2-year-old, the complaint said.

Scott’s agent, Tim DiPiero, said the arrest “a mistake” and said Scott will seek a speedy trial to “prove his innocence.”

In the statement, DiPiero said Scott did not abuse the child involved in the case.

“Anyone who knows Darrion knows him to be a big ‘teddy bear’ type of guy, easygoing and never loud or abrasive,” DiPiero said. “We believe this nightmare is a terrible mistake and that the child has not been abused, at least not by Darrion.”

Scott was a third-round pick in the 2004 draft out of Ohio State & is from Charleston, W.Va., he was cited there for misdemeanor marijuana possession there in December following a traffic stop; Scott was on injured reserve at the time after breaking his foot in October.

If these allegations are proven to be found true I hope he rots in jail for a very long time. In my humble opinion children are this country’s greatest treasure and to harm one is to harm all.

There are so many that don’t deserve children in this world that have them and so many that do deserve them that don’t. A sad fact of life I suppose.
