Two Nebraska wrestlers do not help stop the stereotype of gay men in tights

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on August 13, 2008

Two members of the University of Nebraska wrestling team, including one who won an NCAA championship in 2007, have been booted from the team after posing nude in videos and photographs on an Internet p0rn site.

Paul Donahoe and Kenny Jordan were featured in images and videos for Fratmentv.com, a Web site featuring naked or partially clothed male athletes.

Per Outsports.com here’s their advertising slogan:

“Our Models are all young, hot, athletic men in solo action, most of whom are exclusive to our site, so you won’t suffer from, the ‘Been There, Seen Him’ syndrome. We take great care to make sure our models are stunning and our content is of the highest quality … no grainy video with bad sound and static shots of a guy on a couch watching p0rn.”

Wrestlers who enjoy the gentle embrace of a man? Say whaaa?!! Ok, NOW does an ass tasting sound joke appropriate here????

Donahoe was a national champion in the 125 pound weight class in 2007. He finished third last year. Jordan is a junior.

“The history of behavior of these men, including the current matter, does not reflect the standard of excellence we aspire to on and off the mat,” Coach Mark Manning said in a statement. “We have outstanding student-athletes in our program and we will move forward in a positive manner toward our goals.

“I want to personally apologize for any embarrassment that may have been caused for our athletic department, the university and our fans,” Manning said.

Only two types of things I know of come from Nebraska, corn and porn, and I don’t see those two being slathered in butter and salt. At least not in public.

Jordan and Donahoe have also had run-ins with the Po Po in the past. Jordan has paid fines for possessing or consuming alcohol as a minor, trespassing and assault, and Donahoe for maintaining a disorderly house and having an open alcohol container.

I honestly didn’t know maintaining a disorderly house was crime in Nebraska. Sheesh Then again I thought all gay males kept a neat and clean home.

The Scarlet Project, a blog that touts itself for reporting “news, scandal and gossip” at the university, posted the pictures online but altered them so that they didn’t show full nudity and gross anyone out. The blog reported that they were obtained from an “anonymous” person. I’m betting the center of the football team.

John Marsh, who operates Fratmentv.com and two related Web sites said he’s spoken with Donahoe and Jordan and that both indicated they want to continue too explore the male body as college wrestlers. He said Donahoe was a “dynamite” wrestler.

“If Nebraska is going to be pigheaded and kick him off unreasonably,” Marsh said, “there has to be another wrestling program that’s going to want him.”

I’ll just leave you with this:

“I wear the REQUIRED UNIFORM!”

“Yeah….TIGHTS.”

The Chinese apparently love Milli Vanilli & other Olympic trickery

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on August 13, 2008

Read my lips ... Lin Miaoke miming the song on Friday. Inset: Yang Peiyi, the face of the real voice.

Oh those Chinese are so clever. Remember what everyone was talking about Monday around the water cooler? I certainly do. How the opening ceremony of the Olympics was so grand and no one will ever be able to out do them. Blah Blah Blah

Well in less than a week and we now see how things aren’t always as they seem in the worlds most popular and lovable Communist country.

If you watched the opening ceremony last Friday night you saw an adorable little girl and heard her song. For some reason this actually captivated millions of viewers. But what you saw was not what you or they heard.

Yes folks that’s right. China pulled a Milli Vanilli on the world. The bastards! The little girl everyone saw, Lin Miaoke, was paraded Friday into Beijing’s National Stadium, was not singing at all.

Lin was lip-syncing to the sound of another girl, 7-year-old Yang Peiyi, who was heard but not seen, apparently because she was deemed not adorable enough.

Didnt they do this with C&C Music Factory where they replaced CeCe Peniston with some non-fat chick?

“The reason was for the national interest,” said Chen Qigang, the ceremony’s musical director, in a state radio interview. “The child on camera should be flawless in image, internal feeling and expression. … Lin Miaoke is excellent in those aspects.”

Apparently she is a flawed singer though and I just love the comment about “national interest.”

Oh, I’ll pass judgment on THIS.

Oh hells yes. “For the national interest” my ass. Do they honestly think this is going to IMPROVE their image with the world, because they told a seven year old KID that she wasn’t cute enough to sing on stage in front of the world, even though she has a great voice?! Yeah the rest of the world will really forget the millions of forced abortions in China now.

Those who watched the Olympic ceremony never realized the deception & the state controlled press were no help either. “Tiny singer wins heart of nation,” was the headline in Tuesday’s China Daily newspaper.

“Lin Miaoke might be only 9 years old but she is well on her way to becoming a star, thanks to her heartwarming performance,” the article stated — without mentioning the very important fact that she never sang a note.

Let’s chalk this on the ever growing list of why I had China.

  • Biggest violators in human rights
  • Links to the genocide in Dufur.
  • The whole Tibet issue.
  • Yao Ming (OK I don’t hate Yao but I’m not putting General Tso’s Chicken on this list :) )

But there’s more trickery my friends. Read the rest of this entry »

Jimmy “Black Lung” Leyland has the last laugh on Gary Sheffield

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on August 13, 2008

Gary Sheffield and Jim “Black Lung” Leyland have been sparring in the media since Monday due to Sheffield’s comments he made to a reporter for the Boston Globe.

“I can be in the outfield and play every day. I don’t want to DH,” Sheffield told the Boston Globe. “I don’t feel like a baseball player when I DH. I don’t know how to be the leader that I am from the bench. I can’t be a vocal leader. I can’t talk to guys from the bench because I don’t feel right about it.”

“I come in some days and I don’t play and some days I play. That’s platooning to me,” Sheffield said. “You might think it’s different. It’s not a big deal, but that’s the way I feel.”

“I don’t know how to be the leader that I am from the bench.”

Who’s writing this guys material? This is the funniest thing I have ever read. Sheffield a leader? That’s a riot!

“I’m in a role now where I don’t know what to do, really. The guys are out there busting their butt for nine innings, they come in and they hit and they grind. I just sit down and hit. That’s all I do, so I can’t be in a leadership role from that position.”

Hey Gary guys that are batting .222 don’t get to complain about playing time!

When you are batting .222 and playing almost every day, you should be quiet and accept your role. Especially when last time you got a chance to play in the outfield everyday you went on the disabled list less than a week later. If you do not like your role, give the money you are due back to the team for the next year and a couple months and go find a new job.

Sheffield is upset because if he’s a DH, he can’t purposely throw the ball into the stands like he did when he was with the Brewers years ago when he was unhappy. Errr, ummmmm, when he was unhappy implies that he is happy sometimes, so let’s just leave it at when he was with the Brewers and didn’t want to be with the Brewers so he purposely cheated the game and threw the ball into the stands to get management upset and trade him. Why he was never suspended from baseball when he admitted that, I’ll never know.

Black Lung said he’s “flabbergasted” by Sheffield’s comments and fired back with nicotine filled vengeance:

“I told him that all I had here for him was a DH. If he did not want to accept that, do not accept the trade. I’m still confused by the article because it talks about ‘platoon doesn’t set well.’ Gary Sheffield never platooned here.

“Platoon is when you have a left-hand hitter and a right-hand hitter. One plays against right-hand pitching and one plays against left-hand pitching. That is a platoon.”

“Anybody that has a brain knows that’s not a platoon,” Leyland said, “I tried to play him in the outfield. It didn’t work; he couldn’t throw in from the outfield.”

What else is there to say? If there was no DH, he’d have been bothering his neighbors three years ago. Give me $12 million & I’ll be a DH. Hell I’ll even be the bat boy too!!

Well Black Lung Jimmy also will get the last laugh because yesterday Sheffield was placed on waivers.

Teams aren’t permitted to comment on the waiver process, so it’s possible the timing is coincidental. (wink wink nudge nuge)

So it seems likely that Sheffield’s latest remarks have prompted them to see if interest in him. Sheffield is a cancer so good luck with that.

Sheffield has always been a spoiled prima dona who will try to whine his way out of his current situation. He has done this from the beginning of his career at Milwaukee and has kept it up. The only reason people put up with him is because he used Barry’s clear and could hit like a monster! Good Riddance Gary!! You are just as much a product of the juice as Barry or Giambi and now that you aren’t on the juice you find yourself injured a lot…. Hmmm, connection?

Karma is a bitch for Stephen Garcia

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on August 13, 2008

Stephen Garcia you were reinstated two weeks early & for what? To sit on your ass? Sure you look better since you’ve gotten a haircut unfortunately you’re also sitting and not practicing.

Garcia is injured after spraining his right ankle “sometime Saturday,” as Steve God Spurrier put it.

“I may let him tell you. I don’t know. He said he did it in the scrimmage (Saturday). But he was OK ‘til he woke up Sunday morning,” USC coach Steve Spurrier said. “He thought he got hurt in the scrimmage somewhere. But anyway, he’s limping around.”

“He said he twisted it Saturday,” Spurrier added. “That’s his story and he’s sticking to it.”

That sounds like an implication meaning that Garcia injured the ankle doing something other than playing football.

Maybe he slipped and fell while out drinking in Five Points.

Garcia, who is said to be on third different zero-tolerance policy, better known as Zero Tolerance 3.0 the Garcia Edition, after following three arrests and at least one other university wrist-slap disciplinary incident will not be able to tell reporters what happened, because he returned to the team Aug. 1 after a four-month suspension, he released a statement saying he would not talk to the media until he played in a real game.

Spending a week or more sitting on his ass while on the sidelines is not the best course of action for someone who’s missed all but a couple of practices each of the past two springs.
